Work

About three months into my new responsibilities as UX Designer for the mobile banking app at SEB, covering the full experience across the Baltics, for both private and business customers. Bigger scope than before: thinking about how the pieces connect across the whole app rather than going deep on a single product area. Right now I'm in a research-heavy phase for a project, spending time with customers before any designing happens. Trying to understand the right problems before reaching for solutions.

Reading

Currently reading Beyond Belief by Nir Eyal, I am curious what he has to say outside the habit-design space. I also picked up Redesigning Value by David Dunne and Chris Ferguson at the Service Design Day conference at Estonian National Library, looked like an interesting and practical book about why design and business so often talk past each other. That one feels timely. Recently finished Think Again by Adam Grant before all of this.

Travel

I met most of my new mobile app colleagues in person for the first time last month at a team offsite in Riga. Good workshops and discussions with good people. Stockholm coming up mid-June for the Foo Fighters show.

Thinking about

Been watching how some European banks and FinTechs are introducing AI interfaces like Revolut AIR being one of the more visible examples. I am curious about what it actually takes to make those feel genuinely useful in a banking context, where trust is everything.
